Golden Kick Coach Hails Unlikely Cup Final Ride

Golden Kick FC coach Fiifi Parker Hanson feels proud about reaching the MTN FA Cup final. His team lost 2-1 to Asante Kotoko during Sunday's championship game at University of Ghana Sports Stadium. The lower division club impressed fans with their exciting playing style throughout the tournament. Parker Hanson told Asempa FM that making the final was a major accomplishment for his players.

The coach revealed his team focused on their tactics rather than studying Kotoko before the match. Golden Kick did not watch any Asante Kotoko games during their preparation period. Parker Hanson wanted his players to concentrate on executing their game plan perfectly. The strategy nearly worked as Golden Kick scored a beautiful free kick goal to tie the match at halftime.

Asante Kotoko won their tenth FA Cup title after the victory against Golden Kick. The Porcupine Warriors will represent Ghana in next season's CAF Confederation Cup competition. Golden Kick proved that smaller clubs can compete against established teams through good coaching and teamwork. Parker Hanson believes this experience will help his players grow stronger for future competitions.
