Gov nixes fake jizya murder tale

Government officials fought back against fake news stories spreading across the internet. They said claims about a Hindu businessman getting killed over religious taxes were completely wrong. The Chief Adviser's Press Wing posted facts on Facebook to clear up the lies. Social media users had been sharing twisted stories about the death. People were saying Islamic extremists murdered the man because he would not pay special religious money.

The real story happened back in 2023 during a different government. A business owner named Bikash Chandra Das got into a fight with another man over renting a pickup truck. The argument had nothing to do with religion or special taxes. Azizul Islam Aju attacked Das when he could not use the vehicle. Das later died from his wounds at the hospital.

Police caught Aju about three weeks after the attack. Officers proved the killing came from a personal money fight between two people. Local newspapers wrote clear reports showing the truth about what really happened. The fake religious angle never existed at all.

Government workers said lies like these hurt everyone when they spread unchecked. The false stories tried to make it look like religious people were being hunted down. Officials wanted people to know the real facts instead of believing made-up tales on social media.
