Governor Faisal Kundi to administer oath to reserved seat members in KP Assembly

Peshawar High Court appointed Governor Faisal Karim Kundi to swear in twenty-five newly elected representatives for reserved seats in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly. The court acted after repeated assembly sessions failed to meet minimum attendance requirements for the ceremony. Election Commission of Pakistan had requested the Chief Justice to designate an appropriate official for this task. Assembly Secretary received orders to assist new members with Roll of Members documentation. The registrar's notification emphasized completing the process according to established rules.

Governor House will host the oath-taking ceremony tomorrow morning at nine o'clock. Senate elections will follow at eleven o'clock in the Assembly's Jirga Hall. Election Commission directed provincial security chiefs to guarantee safe electoral proceedings. The Inspector General, Chief Secretary, and Frontier Constabulary commander must coordinate protective measures. Political observers expect this intervention to resolve the legislative standoff that has prevented democratic functions.
