Governor Otti Calls for Peace and Unity During Eid

Alex Otti, who governs Abia State, asked all Nigerians to live together with peace and accept each other during the Eid el-Fitr celebrations. He shared this message Monday when Muslims came to visit him at his home in Nvosi. The governor stressed that his leadership treats everyone equally regardless of their faith, where they come from, or if they're men or women. He believes people fight because they don't grasp how God made everyone equal.

Muslim leaders asked him about their cemetery in Umuahia. The previous government had taken away their land rights. Otti promised he would look into this problem and try to fix it. He congratulated Muslims for finishing their Ramadan fast and mentioned how it happens near the Christian Lenten season. The governor thanked the Muslim community for backing him before, during, and after the elections held last year.

Sheikh Ali Ukiwo, the Chief Imam of Abia State, explained what Sallah means to them. He said it marks when they finish thirty days of prayers and fasting according to Islamic tradition. During this holy month, they prayed for peace throughout Abia State and asked God to help Governor Otti succeed. The Imam expressed joy that Otti has brought back hope to people who live in Abia. He also thanked him for paying for their religious trip to Saudi Arabia for Hajj.

The Hausa leaders from both Umuahia and Aba praised the governor for his work. Sarki Yaro Danladi from Umuahia and Sarki Shehu Bello from Aba specifically liked how he has improved roads and buildings in Aba and other places around the state. They appreciate these changes because better roads and structures make life easier for everyone living there. The Muslim leaders clearly support what Otti has accomplished since taking office.
