Goyal sells India to Singapore at 60th anniversary

Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal praised the six decades of diplomatic relations between India and Singapore on Saturday, highlighting opportunities for enhanced cooperation in sustainability, digitalization, healthcare, manufacturing, and connectivity. The minister spoke at the India-Singapore @60: Partnership for Growth & Engagement business session organized by FICCI, CII, and ASSOCHAM to commemorate the anniversary. Singapore Minister of State Gan Siow Huang emphasized the strong economic ties between the nations and outlined plans for strengthening trade, investment, and innovation partnerships.

The event featured discussions on collaboration in technology, digital transformation, green energy, skills development, and infrastructure financing. Goyal met with President Tharman Shanmugaratnam at the Istana to reaffirm the strategic partnership based on shared values and economic resilience. The three-day visit concluded with meetings between Goyal and the Indian business delegation to align investor expectations with policy priorities for expanded cooperation in regional and global markets.
