Grace Praises Kovambo for Shaping Nujoma Legacy

Grace Mugabe went to see Mrs. Kovambo Nujoma at her home in Windhoek last Thursday. She wanted to say she was sorry about Mr. Sam Nujoma's passing. Grace is the wife of the late Robert Mugabe, who used to lead Zimbabwe.

Grace talked about how her husband and Sam Nujoma were good friends. She said she and Robert often came to Namibia when he had time off from work. They spent many holidays there with the Nujoma family.

She shared a happy memory of both families at Terrace Bay. The children were also there. Both leaders liked to fish together during these trips. Grace said they had a very close bond.

Grace felt she must come in person because of how close the two men were. She could not stay home in Zimbabwe after hearing the news. The friendship between their families was very strong.

Before Sam Nujoma became president, he met with Robert Mugabe many times. Grace saw them talk about what Nujoma hoped for Namibia. She noticed how much he cared about his country. He fought hard for what he believed Namibia should be.

Grace was glad when Namibia became free. She had seen first-hand how much Nujoma wanted this for his people. She felt happy he lived to see his dreams for the country come true.

She praised Mrs. Nujoma for her help and care. Grace said the late leader did great things because his wife stood by him. She told Mrs. Nujoma she was a role model. Grace hopes to live as long as she can. She thanked Mrs. Nujoma for all she did for her husband and her country.
