Greenfuel Left Reeling After TelOne Upset

Greenfuel lost their perfect home record when TelOne beat them 1-0 at Greenfuel Arena on Saturday. Coach Taurai Mangwiro felt disappointed about the defeat and wants his team to bounce back against Scottland on Wednesday. The home side had never lost at their stadium during the entire 2024 season until TelOne arrived with a smart game plan. TelOne coach Hebert Maruwa celebrated breaking Greenfuel's fortress after losing his team's home record the previous week. Both teams learned that all winning streaks must end eventually.

Panashe Mutasa scored the only goal four minutes after halftime with a precise header. Nigel Makumbe delivered a perfect cross that Mutasa converted to secure three valuable points for the visitors. Greenfuel controlled most of the first half but failed to create clear scoring chances against organized defending. TelOne improved after the break and found the breakthrough through patient buildup play. Referee Grace Gimo stopped the game frequently and prevented smooth action between both teams.
