Greta Thunberg arrested at London protest for Palestine Action

Climate activist Greta Thunberg got arrested in London during a protest backing the Palestine Action group. The twenty-two-year-old was detained by City of London Police on Fenchurch Street for holding a sign supporting the organization, which is banned under UK terrorism laws. Other demonstrators used hammers and red paint to damage an office building linked to Aspen Insurance, a company protesters accuse of working with Israeli defense contractor Elbit Systems. Police also arrested a man and a woman who glued themselves to the area.

Thunberg had previously called the jailed activists political prisoners in an online video, demanding their release. Those protesters are on a hunger strike, with several now hospitalized. Kamran Ahmed and Amu Gib, held in different prisons, were recently admitted for medical care. Gib's health has declined sharply, requiring a wheelchair. Lawyers for the group have begun legal action against the Justice Secretary.
