GT7 still racing strong with 2 million monthly drivers

Gran Turismo 7 is somehow still pulling in over two million active players every month, years after it launched. The studio's head, Kazunori Yamauchi, says the game's current health is the best the franchise has ever seen, with its audience actually growing. This is a first for both the series and for PlayStation.

They've kept people hooked with constant updates, the latest being a big Spec III patch. That added a bunch of new cars and tracks, plus a data tool for analyzing your driving. There's also a pricey DLC pack with extra races and some tuned cars. The main gripes people have are the aggressive real-money purchases for in-game credits and the total lack of a PC version, despite years of vague rumors. Yamauchi once mentioned it was a possibility, but quickly walked it back, and there's still no sign of it actually happening.
