Guedes seals La Liga comeback with move to Real Sociedad

Real Sociedad completed the acquisition of Portuguese forward Gonçalo Guedes from Wolverhampton Wanderers during the current transfer period. The 28-year-old player arrived at the Basque club's facilities alongside sporting director Eric Abidal to finalize contract terms. Spanish publication AS confirmed the deal involves a base fee of 4 million euros with additional performance bonuses worth 2 million euros. This marks Guedes' return to Spanish football after previous stints with Valencia and Villarreal. The experienced winger becomes Real Sociedad's second summer addition following Croatian defender Duje Ćaleta-Car's loan arrival from Olympique Lyon.

Guedes brings extensive La Liga experience to his new club through productive spells at two Spanish teams. Valencia benefited from his contributions across 178 appearances, where he registered 36 goals and 30 assists. His brief period at Villarreal produced 3 goals and 3 assists during 19 matches. The Portuguese international strengthens Real Sociedad's attacking options as they prepare for the upcoming campaign. His familiarity with Spanish football provides immediate tactical advantages for the San Sebastian-based organization.
