Gunmen snatch Nasarawa official Yusuf Musa from his Lafia home

Armed assailants abducted Barr. Yusuf Musa, the Permanent Secretary for Nasarawa State's Ministry of Information, was during an early morning raid at his Lafia residence on Tuesday. Police spokesman SP Ramhan Nansel confirmed the incident through an official statement released by the Nasarawa State Police Command. Officers from B Division, Lafia, discovered the crime scene around 0305 hours when patrol units encountered an abandoned Peugeot pickup truck with all doors standing open. The discovery prompted immediate investigation after officers noticed the victim's residential gate remained unlocked. Authorities confirmed Musa's disappearance along with his GMC vehicle bearing registration number KUJ 88 PA.

Commissioner of Police Shetima Jauro Mohammed immediately launched comprehensive rescue operations across multiple jurisdictions within the state. The police chief mobilized tactical units and issued alerts to divisions stationed in Akwanga, Andaha, Garaku, and Kadarko areas. Law enforcement agencies established surveillance networks along major transportation corridors to intercept the suspects during their escape attempts. Mohammed authorized an intensive manhunt operation spanning the entire state territory. The Commissioner emphasized the command's determination to secure Musa's safe return while pursuing the immediate capture of those responsible for the abduction.
