Gunmen Swipe 100k in Wild Katutura Gas Station Robbery

Five men robbed the Namcor gas station in Soweto, Katutura Monday morning. They took about N$ 100,000 around 9 AM. Police shot one robber in the leg during their escape. The other four criminals fled with the cash in their car. The police search for these men continues.

Station owner David Ilonga believes someone helped from inside. He thinks the attack seemed planned because robbers knew exactly where the money was kept. They struck as staff counted cash for the bank deposit. The criminals entered the manager's office at that exact time. The robbers grabbed about N$ 65,000 from the station and N$ 30,000 from the store.

Workers called the police, who responded quickly during the robbery. No customers or staff members were hurt during the gunfire exchange. One money bag fell as the criminals ran away. The station sits across from A. Shipena Secondary School. Ilonga praised the police for their quick response to the emergency call.
