Two people lost their lives when their Toyota Aqua slammed into a tree last night. The crash happened around 10:30 PM on Bristol Road near Gweru. Police officer Constable Sakala from Mkoba station chased the car at high speed before the deadly accident. Police spokesman Commissioner Paul Nyathi said they started looking into what happened right after the crash. The police department plans to punish Constable Sakala with both criminal charges and work discipline for his part in the chase.
