A lady named Doreen Mandivenga lives in Harare. She promised her niece she would make her money grow bigger. The police think she did something wrong and took money that did not belong to her. The police arrested her on February 12.
Doreen will stay with the police until February 17. On that day, someone will decide if she can go home before her next court meeting. Her niece, Peacemaker Makuve, runs a building company. Peacemaker trusted her aunt because she said the money would grow very fast.
From May 2023 until September 2024, Peacemaker gave her aunt lots of money. The amount added up to $350,000. Doreen wrote special notes saying she had the money. She even paid Peacemaker $110,000 to make it look like everything worked well.
Things went wrong when Peacemaker wanted her money back. Doreen stopped answering her messages. She would not tell Peacemaker what happened to the money. Peacemaker called the police because she could not find her money.
The police learned Doreen worked with someone else named Jesman Chonzi. The police have not found Jesman yet. They have searched everywhere but have not found any of Peacemaker's money.
