Harare council denies buying FC Hunters for $600k

City Hall just nuked a rumor about blowing six figures on a soccer team. Harare City Council denied claims that they dropped six hundred thousand dollars to buy the FC Hunters franchise. Gossip suggested the deal involved absorbing seven players and combining the management staff.

Officials labeled the report as total fiction meant to cause panic. They admitted that talks are happening, but insisted no cash has moved yet. The administration argued that the press should have asked them before running with unsubstantiated numbers.

Mayor Jacob Mafume went on social media to reject the price tag. He explained that regulations limit sports spending to seven percent of the total budget. The politician noted they already run a football club and keep those funds in a specific lane.
