A Harare father threatened to kill his baby after learning his former wife planned to marry someone else. Kelly Mupani told the Harare Civil Court her ex-husband, Steven Kambeva, cannot accept their breakup from last month. She reported he comes to her home without invitation and says he will stab their child with a knife. He also promised to end his life if she marries again. Kelly asked the court for protection because she fears for her child every day.
When he spoke to the court, Steven denied making any threats against Kelly or their child. He claimed his former wife lied about his behavior. The man agreed to follow whatever protection order the court decided to issue. Magistrate Meenal Narotam ruled that Steven must stay away from where Kelly lives. The court also ordered him to stop insulting her and making any threats.
