Zimbabwe leaders have started planning their biggest national celebration of the year. The government will honor war heroes on August 11 at National Heroes Acre in Harare. Information Minister Jenfan Muswere told reporters that cabinet members gave their approval for the event. Around 222 families will attend the main ceremony at the famous monument. A brave teenager from Bindura who saved two children from a house fire will get the Silver Cross of Zimbabwe. The first female African doctor in the country will receive an award named after Robert Gabriel Mugabe.
Lawmakers approved a new bill about dangerous weapons and toxic materials. The proposed law would ban people from making or keeping biological weapons inside Zimbabwe.
