A guy from Harare named Watson Muvezwa went to court yesterday asking for help against his former girlfriend, Letwin Munetsi. He told the judge she kept following him around and yelling at him about money for their kid. Muvezwa feels really upset because of how much she bugs him for cash all the time.
He explained to everyone that he always tries to take care of his child. The problem comes from her wanting more than he can give. She never goes to the official maintenance court where they handle these money matters legally. Instead, she just shows up whenever she wants and demands he pay her right then and there.
Things got worse when she started visiting where he works. She told all his co-workers he was a bad dad who never helped with his child. This embarrassed him badly and made it hard for him to focus on his job. When the judge asked Munetsi about these claims, she said they weren't true and that she didn't bother him.
Munetsi defended herself by saying she only wanted basic stuff for their child. She claimed Muvezwa made up these stories just to avoid paying what he should as a father. After hearing both sides, Judge Meenal Narotam told Munetsi she needed to use the proper legal system instead of confronting him directly. The court decided to give Muvezwa the protection order he asked for.
