Harare town clerk Hosiah Chisango left his job after more than 30 years with the city council. He started at the council in 1991 and rose to become the top city administrator in 2018.
Mayor Jacob Mafume said Chisango sent word through his attorneys that he wanted to leave the council on good terms. He asked to talk about his departure benefits with officials. The council will put together a special team to figure out what he deserves as he exits.
