Harare uses jersey barriers to curb omnibus chaos at Trabablas

Government officials rushed concrete barriers into position at the chaotic Trabablas Interchange after television crews exposed dangerous behavior by minibus drivers. The swift action came just three days after ZBC News revealed how transport operators were creating havoc at the critical junction. Contractors worked through Saturday to install the protective structures while authorities promised tough crackdowns on rule-breakers. The emergency response aimed to restore safety and protect the expensive new road infrastructure from further damage. Officials declared zero tolerance for anyone undermining public transportation systems.

Local drivers praised the rapid government intervention at the troubled interchange. Tawanda Muza told reporters the barriers would stop reckless driving that had been causing massive traffic jams. Fellow motorist Luckson Tachi credited President Emmerson Mnangagwa for transforming the nation through decisive infrastructure protection. Another driver welcomed the move as essential for preventing accidents and restoring normal traffic flow. Transport operators themselves demanded stricter enforcement and called for arrests of anyone damaging public property.

Transport Minister Felix Mhona warned lawbreakers they would face serious legal consequences for creating disorder. The minister confirmed that some people were causing chaos at the newly built interchange during recent parliamentary questioning. Edmore Gwengwe representing transport operators urged immediate arrests without favoritism for anyone committing offenses. The public expressed hope that decisive action would preserve valuable infrastructure investments. Citizens viewed the crackdown as proof of the Second Republic's commitment to ending lawless behavior.
