Mnangagwa transforms Harare with $88M Trabablas interchange

The completion of the Trabablas Traffic Interchange marks a significant achievement in Harare’s infrastructure development, demonstrating the Second Republic’s commitment to modernizing the city and improving traffic flow. President Mnangagwa launched the project in May, which was constructed at a cost of US$88 million. Once a notorious bottleneck, the former Mbudzi Roundabout has now been transformed into a state-of-the-art transport hub, easing congestion and enhancing the efficiency of transport and business operations.

The interchange features 13 bridges, slip lanes, and improved connectivity, which have reduced travel times and boosted economic activity along Simon Mazorodze Road. This project is part of a broader effort to upgrade Zimbabwe’s infrastructure under Vision 2030, aiming to position the country as an upper-middle-income economy.

President Mnangagwa emphasized that efficient transport is key to national development and that his government’s focus on infrastructure will drive economic growth. Upcoming projects include the Mabvuku interchange and three others to further enhance the capital’s transport network.
