The President of Zimbabwe, Emmerson Mnangagwa, is getting a big honor. They're going to name a major road interchange after him. It used to be called the Mbudzi Interchange, but soon it will be known as the Trabablas Interchange. "Trabablas" was President Mnangagwa's code name during the war for Zimbabwe's independence.
The government wants to recognize all the good development work the President has been doing. That's why they're giving the interchange his name. It's almost finished being built.
The Mbudzi Roundabout used to be a huge problem. It always had terrible traffic jams, especially when a lot of people were going to and from work. Drivers had a really hard time getting through that roundabout.
President Mnangagwa saw how bad it was. He quickly made a plan to fix it up and make it a lot better. And it's almost done!
The Cabinet also approved some other name changes. Headquarters 1 Infantry Brigade is going back to its old name, Khumalo Barracks. Headquarters Bulawayo District will still be called Imbizo Barracks. And the Zimbabwe School of Infantry will now be known as Lookout Masuku Barracks.
The Minister of Information, Publicity, and Broadcasting Services shared all this news. He said the Cabinet is really happy with the President's smart leadership. They think naming the interchange after him is a great way to show their appreciation.
