Hat Trick Madness Sees Mitundu Baptist Dominate League

Josephat Kwalira became the first person to score during the new NBS Bank National Division League season. Mitundu Baptist FC crushed Mchinji Villa 4-0 at Mchinji Community Ground on Saturday. Raheem Mtondera earned player of the match honors after scoring three goals against the home team. Kwalira found the net after 15 minutes of play to start the historic scoring. The visitors controlled the game from the opening whistle and never looked back.

Mtondera struck twice before halftime with goals at the 20-minute and 28-minute marks. The attacking player completed his hat trick just four minutes after the second half began. Mchinji Villa earned a penalty kick during the 62nd minute but could not convert the chance. Goalkeeper Dyson Gama made a brilliant save to preserve his clean sheet. Mitundu Baptist leads the league table with three points from their opening match victory.
