Heidemark recalls poultry sausage over undercooking issue

A German sausage company pulled one of its products from stores after finding serious cooking problems. Heidemark Landfrische discovered that some of their poultry meat sausages were not cooked all the way through. The company makes a product called Good and Cheap Deli Meat Sausage that comes in 400-gram packages. People mainly buy these sausages at Edeka and Marktkauf grocery stores.

The recall affects sausages with a specific date and health code printed on the package. Only products that expire on July 22, 2025 and show the health label DE NI 10067 EU need to be returned. The company and Edeka stores made the announcement together about this safety issue. They warned customers that eating undercooked sausage could make them sick.

Stores have already taken the bad sausages off their shelves. Customers who bought the affected product can bring it back to any store for their money back. The company said people do not need to show their receipt to return the sausage. This recall helps protect people from getting food poisoning from eating meat that was not properly cooked.
