Hi-fi brand FiiO is now pretending to make pro audio speakers

Audio equipment manufacturer FiiO will enter the professional studio monitor market with the SP5 active nearfield speaker. The company plans to release this desktop monitoring solution in September 2025 at a retail price of £709. This represents the first time FiiO has developed a product specifically for professional audio applications. The SP5 features a 5.25-inch Rohacell-cone woofer and a one-inch silk dome tweeter, providing full-range sound reproduction. FiiO claims this driver combination delivers exceptional detail and minimal distortion across the frequency spectrum.

The monitor offers extensive connectivity via XLR, TRS, and RCA analog inputs, as well as a USB digital connection. Wireless audio transmission occurs through high-definition Bluetooth protocols such as LDAC and aptX Adaptive for lossless streaming. Users can adjust the speaker response using rear-mounted switches that control high- and low-frequency shelving filters. The system automatically recalls stored volume levels when switching between different input sources. These features enable listeners to tailor the SP5 performance to suit various room acoustics and source materials.
