Hi Rez Exec Shakeup Leaves Smite Fans Reeling

Hi-Rez Studios cut several top managers last Thursday after two earlier rounds of job losses. Stewart Chisam lost his job as studio president during these latest cuts. Alex Cantatore confirmed the news on Reddit after a former worker posted about it first. Travis Brown and other senior staff members also lost their positions at the company. The game studio makes Smite 2 and has faced financial problems over the past year.

Company leaders decided they had hired more managers than needed for their current size. These cuts only affected senior management and did not touch developers working on Smite 2. Cantatore chose not to release an official company statement about the layoffs. He wanted people who lost jobs to speak for themselves about their departures. The cuts also affected two managers at Rally Here, another part of the business.

Chisam worked at Hi-Rez Studios for 17 years before leaving last week. He posted on LinkedIn that his departure had been planned for months. The former president said the company tried to compete against larger game studios. Tony Jones confirmed on LinkedIn that he also lost his job during these cuts. Other affected workers have not made public statements about their situations.
