Hidetaka Suehiro and Goichi Suda announced their new project called HOTEL BARCELONA will hit stores in September. The game comes to PC through Steam plus PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series consoles. Players control a rookie federal marshal named Justine who has a deadly secret connection to a crazed killer. White Owls revealed the release details for their blood-soaked adventure.
The action takes place inside a fancy hotel that secretly traps America's most dangerous serial killers. Justine must team up with the murderous Dr. Carnival who lives inside her mind. Together they hunt down seven different slasher villains while trying to escape alive. The hotel contains seven scary areas based on different horror movie types like haunted houses and mad scientist labs. Each zone ends with a terrifying boss fight that tests player skills.
Death actually makes players stronger through a clever game mechanic. Every time Justine dies she creates a ghost copy that helps fight enemies during the next attempt. Smart players can use these phantom allies as shields or distractions against killers. The game supports online play where up to three friends can work together. A fourth player can even invade other games as a deadly hunter.
Fans can try the game early at the BitSummit festival in Japan from July 18 to 20. The demo includes the first boss Jacob who murders people at a baseball field near the hotel.
