Huawei's New X1 Routers Blend Speed, Style, and Smart Tech

Huawei released new X1 series routers in regular X1 and advanced X1 Pro versions. When they hit stores in late April 2025, customers can buy these devices for about $85 and $130. The routers feature unique cylindrical designs instead of traditional models with external antennas. They house 11 internal antennas and earned a 2025 German iF Design Award for their sleek appearance. Users can choose between Interstellar Black or Moonlight White colors to match different home styles.

The routers use special Lingxi antenna technology that creates stronger signals throughout homes. This technology combines omnidirectional high-gain antennas, directional intelligent antennas, and a star flash antenna for better coverage. An intelligent antenna algorithm constantly adjusts to improve signal transmission as people move around their homes. The system offers better wall penetration than standard routers with fewer antennas.

These devices support Wi-Fi 7 with speeds reaching 3.6 Gbps and can connect to both 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands at once. The StarFlash gateway works with multiple connection types, including StarFlash, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi, helping users connect smart home devices without extra equipment. The routers integrate with HarmonyOS for features like parental controls, gaming modes, and security protection against online threats.
