HUNTR/X’s Golden dethrones Taylor Swift in the UK chart

A soundtrack selection from an animated feature film has set a United Kingdom chart record after returning to the peak position for a ninth week.

Golden, performed by HUNTR/X for the movie KPop Demon Hunters, reclaimed the top ranking on the Official Singles Chart for the period ending November 5. The track displaced Taylor Swift's The Fate of Ophelia to resume its chart dominance. This achievement surpasses the previous record for animated artists, which The Archies held for 56 years with Sugar, Sugar from 1969.

Three additional tracks from the K-pop Demon Hunters soundtrack maintained their presence in the rankings this week. HUNTR/X's How It's Done held the 10th position during its sixth charting week, while What It Sounds Like occupied 13th place in week two. Takedown, featuring TWICE members Jeongyeon, Jihyo, and Chaeyoung, moved back to 92nd position during its 14th total week among ranked singles. The Official Singles Chart functions as Britain's equivalent to the American Billboard Hot 100 measurement system.
