The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission has said online reports claiming the United Democratic Alliance won two county assembly seats without a contest are false. A notice circulating on social media said no other candidates filed to run in Tembelio Ward in Uasin Gishu and Metkei Ward in Elgeyo Marakwet, naming two UDA nominees as elected. The IEBC called this fake and told the public to ignore it.
The number of by-elections scheduled for 27 November 2025 remains 16, including races for a senator and six parliamentary seats. The IEBC Dispute Resolution Committee will handle nomination disputes from 8 to 17 October. Campaigning runs from 8 October to 24 November, between 7 am and 6 pm each day. Parties must name their election agents by 11 November. The voter register from 21 June 2022 will be used.
