Igbos Are Getting Profiled Unfairly in Nigeria

An Abia State lawmaker named Nnamdi Ibekwe worries about people blaming Igbo residents for problems they didn't cause. During a House meeting on Monday, he brought up his concerns about attacks against Igbo people across Nigeria. The Bende North representative specifically mentioned how some blamed Igbos after Northerners were killed in Edo State, even though this happened outside Igbo territory. He asked officials to address this unfair treatment right away.

Other House members agreed that this issue needs attention from governors and leaders throughout the Southeast region. They want these officials to meet and create solutions for this ongoing challenge. Representatives Aaron Uzodike from Aba North and Kalu Nwoke from Ohafia South praised Governor Alex Otti during the same session. They thanked him for keeping Aba clean and building new roads. The lawmakers also appreciated ongoing construction at Mmuri Bridge, which has been dangerous and caused many deaths in past accidents.
