IGP Fights Harassment, Boosts Female Cops

The police leader of The Gambia made an important promise. He wants to keep female police officers safe from people who might bother them at work. Mr. Seedy Mukhtarr Touray said this at a special party where they celebrated women police officers.

Mr. Touray wants to help women become better police officers. He helps them learn new things and move up to bigger jobs. The police team has a plan to ensure women feel welcome and happy at work and wants more women to join the force.

Good news came at the party! Fifteen women police officers earned better jobs, and five more will soon earn better jobs. This shows that the police force keeps its promise to help women grow in their work.

A special visitor from Europe liked what the police were doing. She said it makes her happy to see women become strong leaders in the police force. The police work with other groups to teach women everything they need to know.

One police officer, ASP Gas Shabally, talked about the special training she received. She learned many things that made her feel strong and smart. Because of what she learned, she can lead others better.

The party showed everyone how the police want to make things fair for women and men. They work hard to make the police station a nice place where everyone feels safe. Other places might learn from what the Gambia police are doing to help women become leaders.
