Imalwa stays on as acting PG, Namibia’s top prosecutor role is still up for grabs

Martha Imalwa just got tapped to keep running Namibia's prosecuting authority for another year after her term wrapped up, and President Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah made the call based on what the Judicial Service Commission recommended. She has been holding down the prosecutor general spot since early 2004, and the JSC is hunting for her permanent replacement while she keeps things rolling as the acting head.

JSC secretary Elias Shikongo said they are screening candidates to find the best fit for the gig, and the temporary setup prevents the office from falling apart during the transition. Imalwa got reappointed multiple times by different presidents over the years, and she is hitting 65 soon.
