Imam Tells Mahama Build Muslim Mortuaries Now

A top Muslim leader asked President John Dramani Mahama to build special funeral homes for Islamic communities. Alhaji Ahmed Mohammed Yunus Takoradi serves as Deputy Chief Imam for the Ahafo Region. He spoke to reporters after leading prayers during Eid al-Adha celebrations. Hundreds of Muslims gathered at Goaso Roman Catholic Basic School for the religious event. The leader said Muslims need burial facilities that follow their faith traditions.

Takoradi wants the government to spend more money on Islamic schools across Ghana. He believes the country should improve buildings and teaching programs at these schools. The religious leader praised President Mahama for helping Muslim citizens. He asked the president to run a honest government that people can trust. Citizens will work harder to help the nation when leaders act with integrity.

The Chief Executive of Asunafo North Municipal spoke at the same event. Joseph Akparibo told Muslims to help poor people and show kindness to others. He warned young people to celebrate the holiday without drinking alcohol or using drugs. Muslims should live peacefully with Christians and people of other faiths. Community leaders want everyone to work together for a better Ghana.
