In Kenya, Mnangagwa and Ruto to name top panel for DRC crisis

President Mnangagwa landed at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport as the SADC Chairperson began his diplomatic mission to Kenya. Kenyan Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi welcomed the Zimbabwean leader alongside Ambassador Winpeg Moyo and other officials. Foreign Affairs Minister Professor Amon Murwira accompanies the president during this regional peace initiative. The visit centers on establishing a five-member facilitation panel to address the ongoing eastern Democratic Republic of Congo crisis. Both leaders will coordinate their organizations' efforts to bring stability to the troubled region.

State House will host tomorrow's formal session between the SADC and EAC chairpersons. The meeting will finalize terms of reference documents and establish funding mechanisms for the facilitation team. Former presidents Olusegun Obasanjo, Uhuru Kenyatta, Catherine Samba-Panza, Sahle-Work Zewde, and Mokgweetsi Masisi will serve as peace facilitators. African Union Commission Chair Mahamoud Ali Youssouf joins other senior regional representatives for the discussions. Kenya's Foreign Affairs Principal Secretary emphasized the need for unified regional peace approaches.
