India and Belize swap healthcare tips on Independence Day

Ambassador Pankaj Sharma represented India during Belize's 44th Independence Day celebrations on September 21st. The diplomat delivered Prime Minister Narendra Modi's congratulations to Prime Minister John Briceno while exploring healthcare partnerships through the Pradhan Mantri Janaushadhi Pariyojna program for affordable medicines. Foreign Minister Francis Fonseca welcomed Sharma to attend Diplomatic Week, highlighting the strengthening bilateral relationship between both nations within SICA and CARICOM frameworks.

Governor General Froyla Tzalam organized a diplomatic reception that emphasized the growing friendship between the countries. Sharma acknowledged Honorary Consul Arun Hotchandani's contributions to bilateral relations and expressed gratitude for his family's hospitality. Earlier discussions with Education Ministry CEO Dian Maheia focused on academic cooperation opportunities through India's ITEC program under South-South collaboration initiatives.
