India hides life-saving tech, admits Jitendra Singh

Dr. Jitendra Singh announced on Friday that India's medical technology sector is valued at $12 billion in 2025, growing at 20 percent annually, with projections reaching $50 billion by 2030. The Minister of State for Science and Technology made these remarks during the inauguration of a medical exhibition at the Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology in Thiruvananthapuram. The facility has supplied heart valves to over 200,000 patients and delivered advanced shunts to approximately 2,000 individuals. Singh highlighted the institution's unique combination of Teaching, Training, Treatment, and Trade functions, and he called for increased production of affordable indigenous medical devices.
