India men's team set for Dushanbe showdown at CAFA Nations Cup

The Blue Tigers will compete at the CAFA Nations Cup 2025 as preparation for the AFC Asian Cup 2027 Qualifiers. The Central Asian Football Association organizes this tournament from August 31 through September 8 across Uzbekistan and Tajikistan. India enters the Group B competition in Dushanbe against Tajikistan on August 29, Iran on September 1, and Afghanistan on September 4. Group A matches occur in Tashkent, featuring Uzbekistan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Turkmenistan, and Oman. Each group sends two teams to the September 8 playoffs.

This biennial competition enters its second edition with Iran defending their 2023 championship victory over Uzbekistan. Six core nations participate alongside guest teams India and Oman. The tournament structure places group winners in the Tashkent final while runners-up contest third place in Dushanbe. India seeks competitive experience before the Asian Cup qualification begins.
