Indian water polo teams crushed by Singapore rivals

Indian water polo squads opened the 11th Asian Aquatics Championships 2025 with losses to Singapore on Saturday at Veer Savarkar Sports Complex. Singapore defeated India 20-8 in the men's Group B match after the hosts surrendered an early lead through turnovers and penalties. Captain Rajandra Sanjiv and See Tien Ee each scored four goals for the victors.

The women's Group A contest ended 23-10 as Singapore's Yap Jingxuan netted seven goals against India. Krisha Purokatastha led Indian scoring with three goals in the defeat. Thailand edged Kazakhstan 14-12 in women's Group B action, while Iran beat China 14-9 and Japan overwhelmed Thailand 24-12 in men's competition.

Kazakhstan claimed both artistic swimming gold medals as Viktor Druzin won the men's solo technical event with 228.1708 points, and Karina Magrupova took the women's title with 240.1600 points. Eduard Kim finished second in the men's competition, while Sabina Makhmudova of Uzbekistan earned silver in the women's event.
