INEC chief inspects Tanganyika polling stations ahead of vote

Electoral Commission Chair Jacobs Mwambegele visited 83 of 90 polling sites designated for voters from four dissolved wards in Tanganyika District Council, Katavi Region, on Tuesday. The inspection assessed readiness ahead of national elections on Wednesday, October 29, 2025.

The commission relocated polling stations after abolishing Ilangu, Ipwaga, Bulamata and Mishamo wards under local government legislation. Election Supervisor Kagemlo Mutagwaba said voters from affected areas received mobilization and confirmed their willingness to cast ballots at newly assigned locations.

Mwambegele traveled with regional and constituency election officials to examine preparations for presidential, parliamentary and council voting. Tanzania holds general elections on Wednesday, with the message that voting is a fundamental citizen right.
