INEC warns officers to uphold integrity

Election workers in Morogoro received instructions to conduct Wednesday's vote with professionalism after training sessions across three divisions ended on Monday. Judge Asina Omari from the Independent National Electoral Commission told officials that strict adherence to opening and closing times prevents voter complaints while legal compliance ensures credible results.

Mvomero Returning Officer Mary Kayowa inspected preparations at 771 polling centers where more than 3,000 trained workers will assist voters. Officials must prioritize elderly citizens, pregnant women, and disabled residents by ensuring they receive Braille ballots and accessible voting booths.

The commission established procedures requiring all personnel overseeing the presidential, parliamentary, and council elections to maintain confidentiality and impartiality. Presiding officer Jamila Seif said comprehensive training prepared workers to deliver fair voting access for all Tanzanians on Wednesday.
