Institute of Travel and Tourism of The Gambia wins Balafon Award

The Gambia's travel training school won a major prize for helping tourism workers across West Africa. African Travel Quarterly picked the Institute of Travel and Tourism of The Gambia for their Balafon Travel Awards. The group earned praise for teaching people and building skills throughout the region. They work with government offices and travel groups to make tourism better everywhere.

The award ceremony happens at the Accra Weizo Conference on June 27th at a hotel in Ghana's capital. Tourism ministers and travel business leaders from six countries will attend the big event. People from Nigeria, Benin, Togo, Sierra Leone, Ghana and The Gambia will gather together. The conference has become a key meeting place for travel industry workers across West Africa.

The publisher said the school deserves recognition for raising professional standards across borders. Their training programs help create skilled workers and support better tourism practices. The institute's efforts match the conference's goals of making travel easier and improving tourism quality. Accra Weizo has grown into Ghana's top travel industry gathering over several years.
