Isle of Wight Festival 2025 - Everything You Need to Know

The Isle of Wight Festival started back in 1968 and became massive by 1970 when over 600,000 people showed up to watch Jimi Hendrix and other famous bands. After taking a break for many years, the festival came back in 2002 and keeps bringing top musicians to perform each summer. The 2025 event runs from Thursday June 19 through Sunday June 22 at Seaclose Park in Newport. People can reach the island by catching ferries from Southampton, Portsmouth, Lymington or Southsea ports on the mainland. Special buses also pick up fans from major cities around England.

Sting will headline Friday night with Stereophonics taking the main stage Saturday and Justin Timberlake closing out Sunday. Other popular acts performing during the weekend are Faithless, The Script, Jess Glynne, Busted, Olly Murs and Clean Bandit. Three different stages will host dozens of bands throughout the four days with performances starting each afternoon and running late into the night. Weekend passes cost 289 pounds and single day tickets are available for 125 pounds each.

The weather looks perfect for the outdoor festival with sunny skies expected most of the weekend. Friday temperatures will hit 27 degrees with Saturday reaching 29 degrees before cooling down to 22 degrees on Sunday. Some rain might arrive Sunday evening but should not affect the main performances. Festival organizers ban glass bottles, knives, fireworks and many other dangerous items from the grounds.
