Israel plans to strike back after catching three rockets shot from Lebanon toward northern Israel on Saturday. Defense Minister Israel Katz said they cannot allow anyone to fire at Galilee towns. He blamed the Lebanese government for attacks coming from their land. Katz told military forces to respond with similar force.
Warning sirens rang at 7:30 am near the Lebanese border in Metula, an Israeli town. The Israeli army confirmed they stopped three rockets that flew into Israeli space. Katz promised safety for people living in Galilee areas. He stated firmly that whatever happens to Metula will happen to Beirut as well.
Lebanon reported Israeli planes flying over eastern parts of southern Lebanon, where defense missiles blew up. The National News Agency mentioned Israeli ground troops shooting at Hamames Hills with machine guns. They said Israeli cannons fired toward the Nabatieh district in the south. The town of Khiam took hits from three shells fired by Merkava tanks.
The military also shot automatic weapons at border villages Hula, Markaba, and Kfar Kila. A peace deal from November 27 mostly stopped fighting between Iran-supported Hezbollah and Israel. This conflict lasted more than a year, including two months of full war when Israel sent ground soldiers into Lebanon.
