James Gunu donates GH¢10,000 to Asogli Yam Festival as Ho readies for grand celebration

Volta Regional Minister James Gunu contributed ten thousand Ghana cedis toward the 2025 Asogli Te Za celebration during its official launch at GNAT Hall in Ho on Monday. The minister emphasized the festival's role in preserving Asogli cultural heritage while promoting regional unity. Gunu praised the community's welcoming attitude toward diverse ethnic groups, such as the Yoruba settlers in Anagokodzi and the Northern residents in Zongo areas. He urged private sector participation and institutional support for the event that runs from July through October. The celebration features various activities, including cleanup exercises, youth entrepreneurship programs, mountain expeditions, health screenings, and cultural ceremonies, culminating in a grand durbar at Jubilee Park.
