Jammeh was freaked out by Gambians abroad

Yahya Jammeh feared nobody more than certain Gambians living abroad. I mean those who truly wanted a better country for every single person. These people backed up their words with cash. They refused to stay quiet as their homeland suffered under bad leadership. Their hearts pushed them to act when others kept silent.

Jammeh tried everything to push away these overseas Gambians. He made his intelligence agents track certain online groups outside the country. These agents spied on people like Ebrima Chongan and watched what meetings he joined. They also tracked Pa Samba Jow, Soffie Ceesay, Jabou Joh, Saul Saidykhan, Sohna Sallah, Sigga Jagne, Joe Sambou, plus many others. Jammeh feared them because he knew they loved their homeland deeply.

His spies did more than just watch these people. His justice ministers and puppet lawmakers made sure thousands of Gambians had zero say in who ran the country. The scary man left the Gambia, but his system stayed strong. He enjoyed his eight-year vacation in Equatorial Guinea as his team, his bad management style, and his control system remained mostly untouched.

Some of us demand real accountability - not just this fake justice system that targets security officers but hugs the real helpers of the dictatorship. We need to pull out the bad system by its roots! The current problem of citizens losing their rights comes from not holding people responsible for what they did during Jammeh's harsh rule. The dictator hated the diaspora, which explains why his followers, like miseducated Almameh Gibba, voted as they did.

Jammeh's fear of overseas Gambians has infected Adama Barrow and his team because Jammeh's people became Barrow's people. The crowd around Barrow will do anything to keep power. They see overseas Gambians as blocking their plans. Anyone benefiting today finds crazy reasons to defend the current government, even if they said totally different things yesterday! They made a big mistake - their unfair tricks to block other Gambians will unite those who care about their country.

Just as they fought against Jammeh, they will become Barrow's biggest headache! I ask you - how fair can any election be when huge numbers of Gambians cannot pick their leader because of sneaky tricks? Can anyone honestly call that free and fair elections?
