Jeneral Ntatia credits Free SHS for his NPP loyalty

Jeneral Ntatia says Free SHS helped his family when money was tight, and that is why he backs the NPP. The Ghanaian comedian, whose real name is Prince Kwame Amoabeng, told Nikki Samonas how his youngest sibling got a place at Labone Senior High School with no tuition bill.

His story gets quite personal. Both parents had passed away, leaving him to care for his younger siblings while he was still at university. Cash was hard to come by, and he believes the free education scheme gave his family a chance they might not have had.

And that explains why he has stayed loyal to the party. The comic faced backlash for campaigning with the NPP during the 2020 polls, but he felt many of his critics had no clue what his family had gone through.

For him, the policy made a real difference at home. He wanted other children to get the same chance at an education, which played a big part in his choice to support the party.

Ntatia has not changed his stance either. He went as far as asking Ghanaians to vote for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP flagbearer, in the 2028 election.
