Jigna Vora hails HAQ cast as film readies for Nov 7 release

Jigna Vora has commended Yami Gautam and Emraan Hashmi for their performances in the film HAQ. In an interview, Vora explained that the actors brought depth and realism to their roles. HAQ, based on her book Bano: Bharat ki Beti, offers a fictional version of events from the Shah Bano case, a significant legal matter that still influences public conversation. Vora expressed hope that the film’s portrayal of real, emotional events will connect with audiences.

She shared that the character of Shah Bano was inspired by a strong woman who fought for her rights in court despite personal hardship. Vora said the story reflects documented court judgments and avoids fictional additions, aiming to maintain accuracy. HAQ, directed by Suparn S Varma, features the first on-screen collaboration between Yami Gautam and Emraan Hashmi. The film, which also stars Sheeba Chaddha, Danish Hussain, and Aseem Hattangady, is scheduled for release on November 7, 2025.
