Johnny Depp's dog kills two sheep near East Sussex mansion

A bullmastiff belonging to actor Johnny Depp fatally attacked two sheep on farmland adjacent to his rented East Sussex estate. The 62-year-old performer was absent during the incident, which occurred while his assistant exercised the animal named Bourbon. The dog broke away from its handler and killed the livestock, each worth approximately $242. Farmer Joe Ginger expressed anger over the loss, stating he takes his sheep business seriously. Depp responded by engaging a professional dog trainer and implementing additional safety measures.

The mansion, which dates from the mid-1800s, costs the star $16,000 monthly to rent. Local sources indicate dog attacks on livestock occur frequently when animals lack proper training. The historic property features landscaped grounds and a sunken walled garden. The estate sits near the former residence of Depp's late friend, guitarist Jeff Beck. The same landlord reportedly owns both the rental property and the land where the sheep died.
