JU’s Nusrat Jahan bags gold at IAAC in astronomy first

Jahangirnagar University Physics student Nusrat Jahan Lopa claimed gold medal honors at the International Astronomy and Astrophysics Competition. The third-year scholar also earned a national award during this global academic contest. Lopa serves as a senior executive within the university's Astronomy Club Research and Project Team. Her achievement marks a significant improvement from her bronze medal performance the previous year.

The Physics Department celebrated extraordinary results across multiple competition categories. Seven students earned silver recognition while twenty-four others secured bronze medals. Assistant Professor Md Rasel Hossain received recognition for outstanding finalist supervision. Fourth-year student, MA Saif, captured the Ambassador Award for his contributions.

Department Chair Professor M Salahuddin praised the international recognition these accomplishments brought to Bangladesh and the institution. Lopa credited departmental financial support and encouragement for enabling her success.
